Py is an architect, licensed in California & Hawaii. Her industry experience includes building & site analysis, peer review, restoration, construction administration, litigation support and full-service design.


She collaborates on numerous new and reconstruction projects of varied scale and complexity. She's also involved in extensive analysis of the performance of materials, assemblies & products. Her repertoire includes an array of project types: residential, recreational, hospitality, retail and historic restoration. Her most extensive involvements are in multi-housing and mixed-use occupancies with emphasis on constructability, envelope integrity, accessibility and code compliance.

 

Py obtained academic foundations in Structural Engineering at Cogswell Polytech. She holds BFA & MFA degrees with honors in Environmental Design from California College of the Arts and an MPA degree with honors in Environmental Management from Golden Gate University.


Py is currently a Member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, the US Green Building Council and a former member of the Advisory Commission for Redevelopment, City of San Rafael in Marin County, CA. She served on the faculty of CCA and the Academy of Art University, teaching courses in the Departments of Architecture and Interior Design. She's also co-authored & illustrated an array of architectural publications. Subjects range from modular housing and multi-task environments to historical restoration & reconstruction.


Py closely follows developments in the industry and continues her on-going research in sustainability, building code changes, proxemics, accessibility & cost-effective technologies.
